Cuyabeno Wildlife - 3 Days Tour Itinerary

Meeting point: Magic Paradise or Lago Agrio airport

Lodging: Green Forest Ecolodge

Day 1 – Into the Jungle & Night Walk

1. Meet us at Magic Paradise or the Lago Agrio airport. From there, we drive to Cuyabeno River Bridge, the main entrance to the reserve.
2. We begin with a motorized canoe ride through the winding Cuyabeno River, where you’ll start spotting birds, monkeys, and wildlife.
3. Your naturalist guide will explain the fascinating relationships between the flora and fauna of this rich ecosystem.
4. Upon arrival at Green Forest Ecolodge, settle in and relax before your night adventure.
5. After dinner, join a guided night walk through the jungle to spot frogs, spiders, insects, and listen to the mystical rainforest sounds.
6. End with an educational talk on the reserve’s unique biodiversity.

Day 2 – Deep Jungle Exploration + Sunset & Caimans

1. Wake up to the sounds of the rainforest: chirping birds, monkeys howling, and the wind rustling through the trees.
2. After breakfast, enjoy a guided jungle hike along the river to learn about:
• Medicinal plants
• Giant trees
• Orchids
• Native birds, mammals & insects
3. Lunch back at the lodge, followed by free time to relax in hammocks or read in the lounge.
4. In the afternoon, we visit Laguna Grande, one of the most iconic spots in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
• If lucky, swim near pink or grey river dolphins.
• Watch an unforgettable sunset over the water.
5. Return to the lodge for dinner.
6. Then, embark on a night canoe ride in search of Amazonian black caimans, guided only by moonlight and jungle sounds.

Day 3 – Sunrise & Return

• Begin the day with an early canoe trip at sunrise to observe birds at their most active.
• Breakfast at the lodge.
• Travel back via canoe to the Cuyabeno Bridge, and continue by land back to Lago Agrio.
